Thank you. How many of these specials are there in all?

One on each Blu-ray volume so I assume 6 in total.

Thank you. I’m definitely looking forward to the next four! This is such a sweet and silly franchise. (Kumin-sempai best girlzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

More goodies from Chuu2. Thank you again.

So you’re thinking of doing Hayate: Cuties? Yes, please!! I’ve been waiting such a long time to watch the translated OP/EDs – nobody did them before that I could find.

I’ve put up the notice there right after the first BD came out. Nobody applied for typesetting yet so I doubt it’ll get done, though.

So please forgive my ignorance of the fansubbing process, but what exactly does typesetting involve? Could anyone do it, or should it be left to experienced fansubbers only?

Have you considered contacting one of the other major fansubbing groups to see if any of them would be interested in a joint effort? Several of the great groups of the past few years have stopped or greatly reduced their efforts recently – perhaps they might have a Hayate fan on their staff who would love to help out with just the typesetting. Or maybe one of the more active groups has a spare typesetter. (Sorry, but I don’t know anybody in any of the other groups. I’m just in your target audience.)

As a huge fan of fansubs, I guess I’m still surprised that I don’t see more collaborations between the various groups. (I’m sure a lot of that has to do with the individual personalities involved!) When there are two fansub groups who each don’t have enough staff or time to do a whole project by themselves so they decided to team up – we fans are the big winners. (Plus it would cut down on duplicate efforts when two or more of the main groups do the same projects.)

Hopefully you’ll get a qualified typesetter to volunteer soon!

Typesetting involves matching on-screen text on the video using the .ass subtitle format and a given translation. The difficulty ranges from a minute per sign (simple, static on-screen signs) to multiple hours (signs behind moving people / signs that rotate, change size etc.) There are many guides out there.
Not a single group bothered to make a CR edit for Cuties and I couldn’t even find an editor for these short specials so a typesetter for Cuties is pretty much out of the question. The other way round (me helping out another group) would entail me abiding by their standards and that’s not the reason I created [Hien].
      So yeah, Cuties is dead.

No, it scrolls in from the right and is right-aligned. I wasn’t trying to mimic the sign except for the styling.

Thanks for those specials! Are you going to do OVA (The Rikka Wars) as well?

*Still waiting patiently for a fansub*
Does anyone know if one exists somewhere yet?
